It begins with explaining how we learn a language, and then focuses on the lives of five bilingual children: Paloma, a Spanish speaker, Sau and Kai, Hmong speakers, and Rosalie and Rosario, Tagalog speakers. A rainbow listing of the names of over 600 languages insures that every bilingual child will feel represented in this book.

This book and audio set has duplicating masters for learning to count from 1 to 10 in 5 languages: Japanese, Korean, Russian, Spanish, and Swahili. The languages on volume one are Cambodian (Khmer), Cantonese, English, Farsi, French, Korean, Russian, Spanish, Swahili, and Vietnamese.
